Sub: Introduction of give up scheme for the concession to senior citizens and rationalization of scheme of senior citizen concession.

A scheme has been introduced, vide letter referred above, to provide an option to senior citizens of Indian nationality for giving up the concession granted to senior citizens. As per the scheme, senior citizens can opt to give up 50% or 100% of element of concessional amount. The scheme has been introduced for reserved tickets including both those issued through PRS counters and those through internet (e-tickets). CRIS and IRCTC have been advised to make necessary changes in-the software, accordingly.
2. In view of above, it has been decided to modify the reservation form to include a column where senior citizens can exercise option of giving up 50% or 100% of the element of concessional amount. A copy of revised reservation / cancellation form is enclosed, action may be taken accordingly under intimation to all concerned.
