New Menu, Rate For Standard Meals In Mail And Express Trains

Tariff of Standard Meals on Static Units over Indian Railways

Sub: Tariff of Standard Meals on Static Units over Indian Railways.

Ref:- (i) Commercial Circular No. 60 of 2019
(ii) Commercial Circular No. 78 of 2012
(iii) Commercial Circular No. 53 of 2018

Subsequent to notification of the revised menu and tariff of standard meals for Mail/Express trains issued vide Commercial Circular No. 60 of 2019, IRCTC sought clarification regarding applicability of the revised menu and tariff of standard meals/items on Static Units like Refreshment Rooms, Jan Ahaars, etc.

1. The request of IRCTC has been examined in Board’s office. The Competent Authority have now decided to notify the revised tariff of standard meals/items for Static Units on Indian Railways as under:-

Item Tariff (in Rs.) (Inclusive of GST)
Breakfast / veg 35
Breakfast / N.veg 45
Standard Meal / veg 70
Standard Meal (Egg curry) 80
Standard Meal (Chicken Curry) 120
Biryani (veg) – 350gm 70
Biryani (Egg) –  350gm 80
Biryani (Chicken) –  350gm 100
Snack Meal – 350gm 50

2. All other instructions of CC No.60/2019 regarding menu of standard items, menu and tariff of Janta Meals, etc. and implementation of the same on other Mail/Express trains shall be applicable for Static Units also.

3. IRCTC and Zonal Railways shall ensure that tariff increase results in visible improvement in quality and hygiene of food. To achieve this objective, intensive inspections shall also be carried out.

4. Tariff revision shall not accrue any undue benefit to the service provider.

This issue with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
